Bailey's Weekend of Last Minute Changes

I saw some more theatre this weekend, and visited some new places!

I saw two plays and went to one showcase this weekend! On Friday, I went to Theatre Elision and saw the opening weekend of Penelope, a show about Odysseus' wife waiting for his return from his lengthy journey. It was delightful, short, and there was Greek mythology trivia beforehand!

Then I saw Rope at the Gremlin Theatre, a show about the "first" true crime case of Leopold and Loeb. The show was phenomenally directed, designed, and most of the actors were young and I LOVE seeing the future of Minnesota theatre in such talented youths!

After Rope, I went to the North Star Nerdlesque Festival 10pm Showcase and watched performers do nerdy acts and shake their bon bons!

Friday I went to the Twin Cities Tattoo Festival to get the coloring fixed on one of my tattoos. My original artist wasn't a great listener, so I went back to a trusty artist, Audra, to fix it. I am thrilled with how it turned out! The rest of the festival was neat to wander too.

Jenny and I drove out to Lake Minnetonka for Lake Patrol only to see lightning upon arrival, so alas, cancelled. And I was so excited!

Lake Patrol was the only thing I had on my planner for Saturday, so I had to switch gears. Went home and watched 500 Days of Summer and a few episodes of The Bear and started finding things to do. Which is how I found Rope and the burlesque showcase.

Went to the North Star Nerdlesque showcase with my friend Hannah, who is my date for everything burlesque. The Showcase was at the Historic Mounds Theatre in St. Paul and we had a great time! I didn't get home until 12:44, the latest I've been awake in yeeeeears.

Here are some of the performers, some are friends!

Sunday morning I went to a last minute lunch with my friends Sarah, Nick, and Jess to celebrate Sarah FINALLY signing a lease in Minneapolis!! These are all of my friends from college and I've dreamed of having them all down here for years. We got delicious pizza at Boludo in Uptown.

After lunch, me and my improv friends Kai and Pat decided to check out the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum! It came up on the show last week, so Kai said "why not?" and it was SO FUN! It was super hot, but we all had a great time checking out the plants and flowers. I definitely recommend it (on a day that's not so hot) and do as much as possible to get your money's worth.

Sunday night is DND night! Players Marty, Jordan, Christy, James, and Leazah and we're all playing a campaign that's very Treasure Planety. My character is a Centaur Gunslinger. He's a cowboy AND a steed.
