The Most Male- and Female-Dominated Careers Today

It's easy to stereotype certain professions as being dominated by either men or women . . . because according to new data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, certain professions ARE dominated by either men or women.

For example, 98.8% of preschool and kindergarten teachers in the U.S. are FEMALE. Other jobs that are more than 90% female include: Medical records specialists . . . childcare workers . . . speech-language pathologists . . .

Dental hygienists and assistants . . . skincare specialists . . . secretaries . . . nutritionists . . . and cosmetologists.

On the flipside, you'd struggle to locate a female brickmason or stonemason. They're out there, but the field is 99.7% male.

Other jobs that are more than 90% male include: Heavy vehicle mechanics . . . crane and tower operators . . . automotive body repairers . . . vehicle equipment mechanics . . . electrical power line installers . . . HVAC workers . . .

Plumbers and pipefitters . . . pest control workers . . . electricians . . . carpenters . . . roofers . . . construction supervisors and laborers . . . and welders.
