It's National Scholarship Month. I mean, it's also National Pepper Month, Novel writing Month, Peanut Butter Lovers Month, Adopt a Senior Pet Month, Manatee Awareness Month, and Impotency Month. But let's focus on scholarships.
I'm not sure if you've heard, but college is maybe just a little bit expensive. Fortunately, there are tons of scholarships out there waiting for you . . . you just have to know where to look for 'em and how to get 'em. Here are our three tricks:
1. Find the obscure scholarships. Thousands of businesses now offer college scholarships, and they're usually easy to apply for. Most of them aren't for a ton of money, think around $500 to $1,000, but that adds up. Here are just a few . . .
You can get a scholarship for saying what dead person you want to meet. For making a video telling jokes. For sharing a brand you like. For wearing Duct Tape to prom. For giving a tip on how to get deals. Or . . . for advice to survive the zombie apocalypse.
2. Ask the people behind the scholarship for advice. The people giving out a scholarship know what they're looking for. So ask them. Not only will you get good tips on how to win the scholarship, they'll be looking for your application when it comes in.
3. Follow all the instructions, especially the optional ones. Make sure you follow EVERY instruction for the scholarship. And if there's an optional requirement, do it. This combo of attention to detail and extra effort alone will vault you ahead of the pack.
