Dave's Weekend in 5 Pictures: Colorado Weekend Didn't Quite Go As Planned

You might have heard me telling you the story on Friday's show. My sons Carson and Chase don't get to see each other very often, and with their lives the way they are, it's going to be harder and harder for them to get together in the future. So we decided that Carson and I would fly out to Colorado where Chase lives and we'd all spend a ski weekend in Colorado. We were all super-excited for the time together!

When we landed in Colorado, Chase called. He said, "I have some bad news." I figured he was going to be late getting off work or something simple. But nope, he'd just been diagnosed with Influenza A, meaning he couldn't go skiing with us, and really couldn't even see us, unless we wanted the flu too.

At first, Carson and I were like, "Welp, let's go home." But then it quickly hit me, Carson and I still had a weekend together in Colorado, and even though we'd miss Chase, we'd still go through with our plans.

Let's get started with my weekend in five pictures!

Friday after the show, Carson and I went to get Chase some chicken soup, Kleenex, Gatorade and a Sponge Bob balloon. We were going to knock on the door and back away from the door if he answered, but he was sleeping, so we just left it on the porch. We never even got to see him.

After dropping off stuff for Chase, we went to breakfast at our favorite breakfast place in Colorado Springs. It's called King's Chef Diner and the food is amazing. It's kind of like Mickey's Diner but with better food and a cooler atmosphere. It's tiny with only 13 seats in the whole place. If you ever go, visit the one on Costilla, not the other two. I mean, they're fine, but they're just regular restaurants without the charm.

Carson and I went to the mall to see "1917" which was phenomenal. While we waited for the movie to start, we went to a pet store and Carson told me he wants a dachshund. I know, I know...Don't buy pet store dogs. We won't, but this little guy still needed some love.

Yes, I realize every picture is of Carson! Friday night we went to an arcade cuz we both love video games.

Saturday afternoon we drove up to Breckenridge and spent the night. Sunday we got up early and were on the slopes by 9:15! It was a beautiful day and Carson was moderately patient with the fact that he's a whole lot faster and braver than I am!

I hope you had a good weekend! Thanks for looking at my blog!

-Dave
