Coldplay haven't even released their upcoming album Everyday Life yet, and they're apparently already planning its follow-up.
Mark Mitchell ā co-president of the band's record label Parlophone ā recently chatted with Music Week (via NME), where he hinted that Chris Martin and company are already hard at work on more new music.
āThereās nothing set in stone, but what we can say is thereās a desire to do another record to follow this up quickly,ā he divulged. ā[āEveryday Lifeā] came very, very quickly. They worked on tracks for the rest of the summer, so thereās a lot of ideas left off this record which theyāre hoping to follow up as soon as possible.ā
Though they hope to release more material sooner rather than later, don't expect the next one to be connected to Everyday Life.Ā āI donāt think they are sister records. This is very much a record that the band had to get out of their system," ParlophoneĀ co-president Nick Burgess said.
Everyday Life is slated to come out this Friday (November 22). The 16-track, double album is divided into two sections: sunrise and sunset. Ahead of its release, Coldplay has previewed two songs: "Daddy" and "Guns," the opening song on the second half. In addition to the teasers, the band recently debuted the album's title track while performing on Saturday Night Live, and last month shared its first two singles ā "Orphans" and "Arabesque."
