Our Visit to the "Christmas Story" House

We were driving to Boston to take Carson to college and passing through Cleveland. I was sitting in the backseat and it occurred to me that the "Christmas Story" house was in Cleveland somewhere. I pulled out my phone and amazingly enough, it was only a few minutes away off the next exit!

Here are some pictures from the house, where some of the movie was shot. They say any scene where you can see a window was shot in the house. Any scene where you can't see a window was shot on a film set.

Some of the actual house doesn't match up perfectly with what you see in the movie, but the front porch, the living room and the entryway are exactly the same because they're used in the movie.

Some of the pictures are of the gift shop and museum across the street. The cool thing about the house is you are welcome to pick up and touch anything, including the bar of soap from the bathroom and you can get in the cupboard where Randy hides from his dad.

The picture of the BB gun is one of 6 actually used in the movie.

Footnote: The director of the movie, along with his son, was killed by a drunk driver in 2007. So sad to think the person who gave us such a joyful and classic movie died in such a senseless and horrible way. Don't drink and drive and don't let your friends do it either.

Enjoy the pics!
