Good News If You Kept Calling Lake Calhoun By the Wrong Name!

Admit it, since Lake Calhoun became Bde Maka Ska back in 2018 it's been a struggle, you wanted to do the right thing and call it by its new name but it seemed impossible. There's some good news for you because the MN State of Appeals ruled Monday that the former Department of Natural Resources Commissioner Tom Landwehr lacked authority to change the name of the lake because the name had existed for more than 40 years.

So a note to your know it all friend, he/she can now stop correcting you when you say, "I'm going for a walk around Lake Calhoun".
