I Was Supposed To Go To This Gorgeous State Park But Ended At This Dump

I had a couple friends go to a gorgeous state park with cascades and waterfalls earlier this week that I saw all over their Instagram so I immediately Googled where it was and saw it was just across the border near Hudson.  About a 40 minute drive from Minneapolis.  I made plans to head there today with a friend, I drove and she navigated.   WELL, (love my friend) but she put in the WRONG state park and took us to a place an hour away from where we were supposed to go.

WILLOW River State Park was our desired destination but we ended up at WILD River State Park instead.   I hate to bash on state parks but it was SO boring and not a great experience.  Spiderwebs strung across the paths.  Every two feet I would almost step on a frog.  The bugs were awful so as I write this I'm scratching away at a ton of new bites.  Overall we rated it a 2 out of 10.  I should mention my friend felt horrible and apologized a million times for the mistake but if you listen to our show, you know I'm a pretty go-with-the-flow type of gal so I went with it.  Honestly though, I wish we would have just drove the extra hour to where we wanted to go.

Anywhos, here's Willow River State Park.  Look at how gorgeous it is!

And here's where we ended up.  Pretty boring huh?
