We Need the Dog Chewing Furniture to Stop

Charlie and Murray are the two Goldendoodles that we love very much but over the last few weeks, they've become naughty. We adopted Murray from an animal rescue and he does great with Kristy but is horrible with men, including me. Charlie has always been great and while he went through a phase where he'd chew it was never really a problem. Over the last few weeks, Charlie is now the dog that gets his paws up on the counter and Murray is walking around chewing things when we're away at work. The obvious answer is to put them in a crate but since Murray was a rescue puppy that had a rough past putting him in a crate seems to traumatize him.  We had him in the crate a few weeks ago and when we let him out he just seemed off.

Earlier this week we got home and he has chewed the corner of the dining room table.  Luckily this is the oldest piece of furniture in the house but it isn't the first time he's done something like this (I say he because I'm pretty sure its Murray) they've also recently chewed a coffee table, the blinds in the dining room and the molding in the living room.  How do you get it to stop?
