I snowboard and I've never liked chair lifts. From the height factor, to the lack of being strapped in, to the scramble of getting off at the top, chair lifts aren't my favorite thing when it comes to snowboarding.
And now this terrifying video surfaces of a chair lift malfunctioning. It started to reverse at a high speed and skiers/boarders were thrown off or had to jump for their safety. It happened in the Republic of Georgia, and at least 10 people were injured.
I think it's a good time for me to hang my snowboard up for the season and hopefully by next season, all ski hills will have done an intense inspection of their lifts so it will never happen again.
