Stafford High School senior Diana Bloom was flipping through her yearbook when she noticed a special student on one of the pages: a service dog.

Alpha is a service dog for 16-year-old Andrew Schalk, who has Type 1 diabetes. Alpha's job is to alert Schalk when his blood sugar is getting too high or too low.

"He has become a huge part of my school, coming to my classes with me, and a lot of people know about him," Schalk told BuzzFeed News.

Schalk spoke to the school's yearbook staff, who gladly agreed to include his service pup in the yearbook.
