Hi there. My name is Kiesha and you did a slow jamz for me and my hubby Todd for Valentine's day. It was the one about me being on "pelvic rest". It was awesome, btw!

I am writing you for 2 reasons. The first reason I am writing is to update you on our situation but mostly I am writing to thank you for awarding the "summer selfie" to Roberta. I know it is by vote however I still want you to know that it is a great thing that you did. I relate to her and know better than most that she truly deserves it. You will see what I am talking about below.

I spoke with you guys on February 13th for the Slow Jam. On March 17th my water broke at 23 weeks. I spent the next 28 days on hospital bed rest until April 13th (27 weeks gestation) when my body gave out and I started to bleed. I had an emergency c-section. While in surgery I started to bleed uncontrollably and had to have a hysterectomy, bladder reconstruction and 46 units of blood & platelets. The only thing that saved my life was a $20k shot they gave me that clotted all of my blood. I was kept in a coma and put in the ICU. Eventually I was discharged but not with out many other complications and surgeries to follow that I won't go into right now.

Our little miracle Leni Suzanne was born at 2 lbs 3 oz and 13.5 inches long. She spent her first 75 days of life in the NICU. She came home on June 27th. She is now 3.5 months old and 6lbs 6oz. She is gorgeous and truly a miracle. She is so strong. I attached a couple pics for you from birth to now.

I understand what Roberta is going through and I know from personal experience as a mom of a preemie that she needed something to lift her spirits and make her feel like she can keep going. You did good today!!! I don't know her but I needed to thank you for being there for her.

And here's the Slow Jam Dave and Steve made for Kiesha.
