A Great Idea to Get Rid of Clothes You Never Wear

I have way too much stuff in my house. It's not disgusting or gross or even jam-packed, hoarder-style. It's just too much stuff. When I want to find something, 4 out of 5 times I can't. When I want to get to something, and I DO know where it is, it's usually under a pile of other stuff.

So I got this book about Swedish Death Cleaning. The concept is, "Clean out your s**t so your kids don't have to when you die." And it's not just for old people with one foot in the grave, it's for anyone who wants to be free of having too much stuff!

One of the tips is that clothes are the easiest to start with. We all know the tip, "If you haven't worn it in a year, get rid of it." But sometimes we look in our closet and we honestly don't know if we've worn it in the last year. So instead of getting rid of it, it stays.

I think it might have been Falen that suggested this trick. Take all your clothes hanging in your closet and turn the hanger the other way. Like this.

And if in a year, (now is a good day to start because it's Halloween and you'll remember that) if you still have hangers turned around, get rid of it!

I hope it works for you!
